WOQOD Sustainability Overview
WOQOD demonstrates a strong commitment to addressing the complexities of sustainable development. Within our organization, sustainability is an integral part of all operational facets, aiming to ensure the responsible, equitable, and secure delivery of energy required for an expanding population.
Our commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals aligns closely with Qatar’s National Vision 2030. We fully recognize our duty to protect and conserve the environment. This involves a continuous process of identifying and assessing the environmental impacts stemming directly from our operations, along with developing strategies to mitigate these impacts.
This approach concurrently promotes environmental preservation, social advancement, and economic prosperity, with the overarching goal of safeguarding the interests of future generations against potential compromises stemmino from our present actions.
Annual Sustainability Reports:
Since 2013, WOQOD has been annually publishing a Sustainability Report detailing its achievements in various areas, including environmental, social, and governance aspects. This report is prepared in alignment with the principles of materiality established by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), covering topics that reflect the organization’s significant economic, environmental, and social impact.
The information presented in the sustainability report is based on historical performance data and data from the reporting period. Data is calculated using standard guidelines, assumptions, and methodologies. For example, greenhouse gas emissions data is derived from standard formulas and calculations. Unless otherwise specified, the quantitative data highlighted in the annual sustainability report covers the entire reporting period from January 1 to December 31.
The report includes information on critical strategic decisions and initiatives that were launched during the reporting period.

Here at WOQOD, we’re thrilled to release the tenth edition of our Sustainability Report, originally published in 2013. It follows the standards established by the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative).
This report’s scope was determined after thoroughly evaluating the nature and scale of WOQOD’s business and its specific sustainability concerns. Considering stakeholder opinions, overall business risks, current sustainability trends, and industry best practices helped us identify the material factors most essential to our organization.

Highlighting Sustainability Report 2024:
We are delighted to announce the release of the Twelfth edition of our Sustainability Report, continuing a tradition that began in 2013. This report adheres to the standards set by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

Operational Excellence and Financial Performance:
WOQOD’s fuel business experienced robust growth, with total sales volume increasing by 6% year-over- year, reaching a record high fuel volume of 11.3 billion liters compared to 10.7 billion liters in 2023. Jet fuel sales surged by 10% to 6.2 billion liters, while gasoline sales grew by 4%, totaling 3.0 billion liters. The net profit attributable to shareholders increased by 7% to QAR 1.05 billion in 2024 as compared to the previous year.
FAHES inspections rose by 6%, driven by newly registered vehicles reaching their 3-year inspection cycle. The program was also renewed for five more years under a new contract with the Ministry of Interior. -
Renewable Energy Initiatives:
WOQOD continued integrating clean energy solutions by expanding solar panel installations at three service stations and adding more electric vehicle (EV) charging points in collaboration with Kharama. The company also strengthened its partnership with Siraj Energy for Photovoltaic (PV) + EV infrastructure development, supporting Qatar’s low-carbon transition. -
HSE Targets:
WOQOD has successfully met its Lost Time Injury Frequency (LTIF) and Total Recordable Case Frequency (TRCF) targets for the year 2024. The achieved LTIF stands at 0.092, significantly outperforming the target of 0.223. Similarly, the TRCF for 2024 has been recorded at 0.690, surpassing the set target of 0.857.

Environmental Commitment:
In line with Qatar National Vision 2030, WOQOD reduced its diesel consumption through fleet optimization and implemented AdBlue systems to meet Euro 6 NOx emissions standards. WOQOD’s newly established petrol stations with car wash facilities incorporate advanced water recycling systems that treat and reuse wash water. These systems are expected to achieve a 90% reduction in freshwater consumption, significantly improving resource efficiency and minimizing the environmental impact, in alignment with GRI sustainability standards. -
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Achievements:
The year 2024 was distinguished by significant achievements, including obtaining the prestigious Gold RoSPA Occupational Health & Safety Award and Silver Fleet Safety Award. from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). Additionally, WOQOD, reinforcing its commitment to a strong safety culture, successfully conducted five major HSE campaigns and hosted the WOQOD Safety Day and Awarding Event on May 2, 2024, aligning with the World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
