Midfield Fuel Farm
Primary Storage & Hydrant Supply Hub
Strategically located near the central terminal area, the Midfield Fuel Farm serves as the main operational center for aviation fuel supply at Hamad International Airport (HIA). It is directly connected to the airport’s underground hydrant fueling network, enabling rapid and efficient Jet A-1 fuel delivery to all contact gates and remote stands.

• Large-Capacity Storage Tanks: Multiple above-ground vertical tanks to meet operational JET A1 demands.
• Pipeline Integration: Connected to the QatarEnergy (QE) pipeline for continuous Jet A-1 supply

• Automated Tank Gauging (ATG): Real-time level monitoring, temperature control, and leak detection systems
• Fire Safety Systems: Fully compliant with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, equipped with firewater tanks, foam systems, and automated emergency shutoffs
• Operations Control Center: Monitors inbound/outbound fuel flows, stock levels, and hydrant pressure in real-time
Western Fuel Farm
Secondary Storage & Operational Redundancy
The Western Fuel Farm functions as a Secondary Storage Facility, ensuring continued operations during peak demand periods, maintenance downtime, or supply disruptions. Its strategic location offers logistical separation to enhance business continuity and support disaster recovery planning.

• Supplemental Storage Tanks: Designed for bulk fuel holding and overflow capacity
• Dedicated Fuel Transfer Lines: Can feed the hydrant system or transfer fuel to Midfield via cross-connects
• Tanker Loading/Unloading Bays: Facilitate fuel receipt via road tankers during contingency scenarios
• Emergency Response Integration: Serves as a fallback control point with full HSSE compliance
• Strategic Buffer: Ensures fuel supply resilience in case of upstream supply interruptions or airport-wide emergencies
