QJET Fleet Maintenance Workshop
Qatar Jet Fuel Company (QJET) operates a dedicated Fleet Maintenance Workshop within the secured premises of Hamad International Airport, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and regulatory compliance of all Fuel-handling and refueling vehicles.
1. Preventive Maintenance Schedule
• All fleet vehicles—including refuelers, hydrant dispensers, towable units, and support trucks—are maintained according to a structured preventive maintenance plan.
• Scheduled inspections are carried out based on mileage, operational hours, and manufacturer guidelines, in line with Joint Inspection Group (JIG) recommendations.
2. Routine Checks and Critical System Servicing
Regular servicing includes:
• Engine and transmission performance
• Brake system inspections
• Steering and suspension checks
• Electrical system diagnostics
• Fuel delivery systems (meters, pumps, hoses)
• Regulare calibration and maintenance of fuel quality assurance equipment, including differential pressure gauges and sampling tools.
3. Inspection Frequency and Standard
• Daily Pre-Use Inspections: Operators conduct walkaround checks before each use to detect fluid leaks, tire wear, brake light issues, or hose faults.
• Weekly and Monthly Technical Inspections: Conducted by qualified mechanics for in-depth examination of safety-critical components.
• Annual Compliance Audits: Comprehensive mechanical and safety inspections in accordance with JIG Standard 1 and IATA Fuel Quality Pool (IFQP) expectations.
4. Breakdown and Emergency Repairs
• A 24/7 standby maintenance team ensures immediate response to breakdowns within the airside environment, preventing service interruptions.
• Emergency repairs are logged and followed up with root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
5. Documentation and Compliance
• All maintenance activities are recorded in a centralized fleet management system —ensuring traceability, audit readiness, and predictive maintenance insights.
• Maintenance logs are reviewed during internal audits and by third-party inspectors (JIG/IATA) to verify compliance.
Sustainability and Safety in Maintenance
• Use of environmentally friendly lubricants, proper waste disposal in accordance with ISO 14001, and adherence to ISO 45001 standards for health and safety within the workshop.
• Continuous staff training ensures technicians follow safe work practices and consistently use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
