  • Does QJET provide Service Level 2?

IATA Service Level 2 (SL2) refers to a standardized fueling framework in which the refueling operator (such as QJET) delivers  fueling services on behalf of the airline—independently of any ground handling services. The operator supplies Jet A-1 fuel using its own equipment and personnel, in accordance with IATA Fueling Technical Standards and JIG Guidelines.

  • Which types of aircraft do you refuel?

We provide refueling services for a wide range of aircraft, including:
    •    Commercial airliners (e.g., Airbus A350, Boeing 787, A380)
    •    Cargo aircraft (e.g., Boeing 777F)
    •    Private jets
    •    VIP and diplomatic aircraft
    •    Charter and emergency medical flights

  • What is Jet A-1 fuel?

Jet A-1 is a kerosene-based aviation fuel used in turbine engine aircraft. It complies with international standards such as DEF STAN 91-091 and ASTM D1655, featuring a flash point above 38°C and a freezing point below -47°C. Jet A-1 is the most widely used jet fuel worldwide.

  • Who regulates your refueling operations?

Our operations are governed by the following regulatory and industry bodies:

    •    Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA)
    •    International Air Transport Association (IATA)
    •    Joint Inspection Group (JIG)

  • Do you provide fueling for military or state aircraft?

Yes. We provide refueling services for:

All services are coordinated with airport authorities and conducted in accordance with security protocols.

If contamination is suspected, the following actions are taken immediately:

    •    Sample analysis is conducted on-site
    •    Full traceability is initiated back to the original fuel batch

All processes comply with DEF STAN 91-091 and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Can fueling occur during boarding or engine running?

Yes, under controlled and regulated conditions:
Concurrent fueling (during boarding) is permitted when:
    •     Fire extinguishers and trained personnel are present
    •     There is coordination with cabin crew and airport operations
    •     Procedures are clearly documented and monitored by airport authorities
    •    Hot refueling (fueling with engines running) is restricted and only allowed in specific, approved scenarios.

  • How can a customer raise an emergency or after-hours service request?

For emergencies or unplanned fueling needs, customers may contact our operations team through the designated 24/7 emergency contact number provided in their service agreement or via the on-call duty manager.

  • Do you support sustainable aviation fuels (SAF)?

At present, QJET continues to evaluate infrastructure compatibility with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in alignment with global aviation decarbonization goals.

  • Do you offer fueling for private or VIP aircraft?

Yes. We provide fueling services for:
    •    Executive jets
    •    VIP and government flights
    •    Special event operations (e.g., global summits, sports charters)

  • How long does the aircraft refueling process typically take?

Refueling duration depends on aircraft size and the volume of fuel required. On average:
    •    Narrow-body aircraft (e.g., A320/B737): 15–25 minutes
    •    Wide-body aircraft (e.g., B777/A350): 25–40 minutes
    •    A380 superjumbo: up to 50–60 minutes
These estimates assume standard hydrant access and no operational delays..

  • How do you ensure fuel quality?

Fuel undergoes rigorous quality checks at every stage:
    •    Storage tank sampling
    •    Filtration during loading and delivery
    •    On-site visual and chemical analysis (e.g., water content, density)
    •    Real-time flow monitoring using calibrated meters
We fully comply with IATA, JIG, and ICAO standards.

  • How is Jet A-1 delivered to aircraft?

At major airports like Hamad International Airport (HIA), Jet A-1 is delivered through:
    •    Underground hydrant fueling systems for direct refueling at contact stands.
    •    Mobile fuel bowsers ranging (capacity: 20,000 to 60,000 liters) used at remote and hard-stand positions.
All fueling operations are performed by trained operators in full compliance with International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Joint Inspection Group (JIG) safety protocols.

  • What happens if fuel contamination is suspected?

If contamination is suspected, the following steps are immediately taken:
    •    Fuel delivery is stopped
    •    Sample analysis is performed on-site
    •    Affected equipment is isolated and flushed
    •    Aircraft operator is informed and procedures are documented
    •    Full traceability is initiated back to the fuel batch
All processes follow DEF STAN 91-091, and internal SOPs.

  • What safety measures are followed during refueling?

We follow strict safety protocols including:
    •    Grounding of the aircraft and fueling vehicle
    •    Continuous operator presence at the fueling point
    •    Use of flame arrestors and bonding cables
    •    Emergency shut-off systems
    •    Pre- and post-refueling visual checks and documentation
All procedures comply with Joint Inspection Group (JIG) guidelines, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) regulations, and International Air Transport Association (IATA) fueling standards.

  • What is IATA Service Level 2 (SL2) in refueling?

IATA Service Level 2 (SL2) refers to a standardized framework where the refueling operator (like QJET) provides fueling services on behalf of the airline, but without ground handling integration. The operator supplies Jet A-1 fuel using their own equipment and staff, following procedures outlined by IATA Fueling Technical Standards and JIG Guidelines.
