It is QJET's policy to positively promote and give high priority to the continuing establishment of a safe, secure and healthy working environment and to minimise the effect of operations on the environment.
This is in addition to complying strictly with the health, safety, security and environmental measures as required by legislation.
These objectives shall rank equally with other high priority responsibilities. QJet recognises that an effective policy depends upon a dedicated attitude by all employees and assignees working for QJet.
Drug and Alcohol Policy Statement:
QJET is committed to a safe, healthy, and productive workplace for all employees.
QJET recognises that alcohol, drug, or other substance abuse by employees will impair their ability to perform properly and will have serious adverse effects on the safety, efficiency and productivity of other employees and the company as a whole. For any employee, the misuse of legitimate drugs, or the use, possession, distribution or sale of illicit or unprescribed controlled drugs on company business or premises is against the law and company policy. These actions are strictly prohibited and are grounds for termination of employment. Being unfit for work because of use of drugs or alcohol is against company policy and subject to termination of employment. While this policy refers specifically to alcohol and drugs, it is intended to apply to inhalants and all other forms of
substance abuse.
QJET may conduct unannounced searches for drugs and alcohol on company owned or controlled property. QJET may take suspected employees to authorised designated hospitals to conduct medical examinations of alcohol and drug testing when a probable cause exists to suspect alcohol or drug use, including workplace incidents. Unannounced periodic or random testing will be conducted when an employee meets any one of the following conditions: has had a substance abuse problem or is working in a designated position identified by management. A positive test result or refusal to submit to a drug or alcohol test is grounds for disciplinary action, including termination of employment.
Contractor, common carrier, and supplier personnel are also covered by paragraph one and the search provisions of paragraph two of this policy.Individuals who violate the policy will be removed from company premises and may be denied future entry.
It is the responsibility of the employee to notify any criminal drug violation occurring in the workplace.
In addition to the above policy, it is a requirement of QJET that all applicants accepting offers of regular employment must pass a drug test.
